About

Olby

At some point in early 2000′s I started to make my own tracks mostly due to my father and his passion for synth music. The tool of choice was Propellerhead’s Reason. My experimentation led me to a point where I produced a couple of tracks for one of my high-school friends (9D). He spent his savings on doing the vocals professionally in a recording studio. Since then it became one of my major interests. Back then and now I produce for me and my friends just for the fun of it. In mid 2006 converted from software to hardware production. My studio centrepiece at the moment is a Roland MV-8800 workstation which was used to produce and record 9D’s first solo EP. I have never considered my self as being a composer, I don’t have a degree in music performance and my notation reading skills are limited. But people say I have good ears and maybe this is why I keep doing this. I enjoy listening to old records, sampling bits and pieces, juggling them around finding the right spot and eventually making a track out of all this. Presently I am doing Sound Production course at North Glasgow College and my main areas of interest are audio technology & sound design. I also enjoy software development and computer game design. If you want to collaborate in any way just get in touch with me and I will be glad to sort it out. Please see contact links below.
